Overview
This migration safari during the calving season is crafted to maximize your chances of witnessing the remarkable Serengeti wildebeest migration. From January to March, the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu areas offer the best vantage points to observe thousands of wildebeest grazing on the nutrient-rich short grass plains. During this period, predator activity is at its height, providing excellent opportunities to spot cheetahs, lions, and leopards, and thrilling predator-prey encounters.
Itinerary
After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and transferred to Arusha Airport for a short 40-minute flight to the Ndutu area of the Serengeti. On arrival, your guide will greet you for an exciting full-day game drive in Ndutu, where you’ll have the chance to witness the great migration. As the day concludes, we’ll head to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Lake Ndutu, located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and part of the Serengeti ecosystem, is a seasonal haven for wildlife. From December to April, the short-grass plains are alive with migrating wildebeest, alongside elephants, resident game, and abundant birdlife, creating a remarkable experience for nature enthusiasts.
