After breakfast, you’ll leave Shira 2 Camp (3,850 m) and head toward one of the most crucial points on the route: Lava Tower (4,600 m). This stretch involves several ascents and descents, with some sections proving to be quite challenging. Reaching Lava Tower, where you’ll pause for lunch, is essential for acclimatization. Spending 1–2 hours here helps your body adjust to the higher altitude, even though some discomfort is common at this elevation.
Following your break, you’ll descend to Barranco Camp (3,900 m), where you’ll be greeted by the imposing sight of the Barranco Wall. Despite its steep and intimidating appearance, the path you’ll take the next day is straightforward and manageable.
