After breakfast, you will depart from Shira Camp and set off towards the highlight of this segment: Lava Tower (4,600 m / 15,088 ft). This part of the trek involves several ascents and descents, culminating in a camp situated at an elevation above 4,600 m / 15,088 ft. The trek can be challenging, and some discomfort is common, but spending at least 1–2 hours here is crucial for proper acclimatization. Therefore, our groups enjoy a lunch break at Lava Tower.
Following lunch, you will descend to Barranco Camp. Here, you’ll be greeted by the impressive Barranco Wall, notable for its enormous size and steep incline. While you’ll be climbing it the following day, there’s no need to worry—there’s a straightforward hiking route that makes the ascent manageable.
